Unfortunately, a simple incident has occurred with my student at Casteel High School, where I simply wanted an acknowledgment of wrongdoing and an apology from staff, but it has come to the point now that I cannot ignore how the administration has continuously dismissed and ignored facts.
Considering I know many other students and parents have experienced similar issues, I am at the point where I cannot let this go.
I am writing to address a concerning issue involving the handling of student reports regarding inappropriate actions by certain staff members at Casteel High School and within the Chandler Unified School District.
Unfortunately, these reports have been consistently misrepresented, ignored, and discounted by school and district administrators, leaving many students and parents feeling unheard.
Last semester, my daughter expressed that she experienced bullying by her yoga teacher, Ms. Mary Joyce Ramirez. Student witnesses came forward and were interviewed by Principal Jason Phillips. Despite providing evidence including recorded conversations of interviews, emails, and copies of official witness statements that clearly contradicted Phillips’ claims that the students did not report what they absolutely had, the District (CUSD) has chosen to officially state the issue has been resolved, and no wrongdoing ever took place.
Immediately after I began to publicize this behavior in August, Ms. Mary Joyce Ramirez filed a police report falsely claiming that I had been instructed not to contact her, I was continually harassing her, and although we had never met, she claimed she feared for her safety. Ramirez then made multiple additional false claims in official court documents to have a restraining order granted against me.
Although school and district officials understood that I was well within my rights as a parent, and I had not violated any laws, they fully supported the false claims made by Ms. Ramirez. I was forced to relinquish my firearms and was not allowed within 500 feet of the Casteel High School campus while the restraining order was enforced.
I was require to request a court hearing to present my complete documentation of the truth, and expose the lies Ms. Ramirez had officially reported. Weeks latert the court did not conclude that I was ever instructed not to contact Ms. Ramirez, and found that I was not considered a threat to Ramirez, my actions were not considered harassment, and all of my behavior was well within my rights as a parent. As a result, the restraining order that was initially granted, was dismissed.
Furthermore, the court admonished the union representative for the CUSD, stating that “the only reason this situation has escalated to this point is because the principal (Jason Phillips) did not do his job, and this fact should be addressed by the district.”

This behavior has compelled me to take action, as I cannot ignore the fact that many other students and parents have faced similar challenges. It is crucial that we address this pattern of dismissal and ensure that all reports of inappropriate behavior are acknowledged and properly addressed.
Multiple lawsuits are being processed and will soon be filed.
We invite you to join us in seeking accountability by sharing any instances of inappropriate conduct mishandled by school or district administration that you or your student may have experienced. Together, we can work towards creating a safe and supportive environment for all students. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Based on the narrative written, it sounds like everyone involved could have handled this situation differently. Crazy something like this escalated to this point.

Agreed…
According to the court findings, the only reason this situation ended up in court was because “the principal (Jason Phillips) did not do his job”. Court documents and additional evidence will soon be uploaded to this site. The case number is 23-C-H140 – 1. If anyone would like to request a transcript of the hearing please contact the Chandler Municipal Court at 480-782-4700.
Multiple requests to schedule a parent teacher principal conference were rejected by Ms. Ramirez, and all of her refusals to discuss her initial violations of district policy have been fully documented in emails. Principal Phillips did not choose to do his job from the beginning and discuss how and why Ramirez was in violation of district policy despite the fact that he had provided the policy to me.
Ramirez continued to violate policy and doubled down by taking points when she understood my student was legally considered NOT ABSENT. Additional requests for a conference were made, refused by Ramirez, and never granted.
The entire escalation is thoroughly documented via email. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN VIEWING THE EMAIL EVIDENCE, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL REQUESTING IT.

I guess I am a little perplexed with what you are wanting to achieve with your signs outside of the school and this website? Are you wanting validation for your daughter? Are you wanting people to be let go because of this? What is your end goal? Right now it seems like a lot of he said/she said and we don’t have much back story of your daughter’s participation and time spent/work done in class. This class is a participation class. If you aren’t there, even if excused, you may have a harder time maintaining your grade. What was her final grade in the class? I am by no means saying people are right or excusing their behavior. I think I, as a general reader and parent would just like a little more information on THIS situation before making a judgement call. Are there other things I don’t agree with, absolutely but this one I’m not seeing the reason for such a BIG show at this moment.

This site was created to provide a voice for those who feel they have been silenced and ignored after disclosing wrongdoing by school staff or administration. Our personal experience is one of far to many situations where the inappropriate actions of staff and administration have been covered up, misrepresented, and dishonestly dealt with. The reports by students and parents to this so far are much more serious than ours. Earlier this year local news stations reported that seven female students reported that they were inappropriately touched by the theater teacher at Casteel HS and the parents and students claimed that school and district administrators did not properly acknowledge these claims, and minimised and misrepresented what was reported by these students. Multiple lawsuits are currently being litigated in those cases. If staff and district administrators are so easily willing to lie and cover up the irrefutable evidence provided to them in our situation, what else have they lied about and covered up? We must hold them accountable.
By providing a place where students with legitimate reports can be heard and not dismissed, together we can put an end to this pattern of dismissal.

You are a grown man and acting like a child. My child attends this school and everyone knows your daughter received an A in her class. Why don’t you post the court transcripts for everyone to read? All of the kids laugh when you are across the street. Your poor daughter is being made fun of by everyone at her school. Act your age!

This is not about the grade. It’s about evidence of harassment and bullying that was covered up by principal Jason Phillips and the Chandler Unified School District. The case number for the restraining order that was granted, then thrown out due to the multiple false claims reported by Mary Joyce Ramirez, and phone number for the Chandler Municipal Court has been provided for anyone that cares to review the court transcripts. The facts speak loud and clear for themselves. Multiple students and parents have volunteered to spread the word about what they know to be true in this case.
It’s interesting that anyone would know what my daughter’s grade was but her teacher, unless of course her teacher is telling “everyone”.
Notices of allegations are being submitted individually to the State Board of Education against Mary Joyce Ramirez, Jason Philllps, Frank Narducci, Craig Gilbert, Wendy Nance, Dan Serrano, and Ken James. Because underage students have until six months after their eighteenth birthday to file a notice of claim, civil rights lawsuits will soon be filed.
If anyone is interested, please feel free to email any request for court documents, the false police report filed by Ms Ramirez, and/or email correspondences that further support the allegations of harassment and bullying committed by Mary Joyce Ramirez, and/or the efforts to cover up her actions by Jason Phillips and the top administrators of the Chandler Unified School District.
